When Can You Start to Monetize Your Audience but Why You Might Never Want To

Too many people are trying to build a following for their personal brand so they can sell them something and profit from it. The trap that many personal brands fall into is that they don't provide enough value (or that same value is offered somewhere else cheaper/for free) to start charging their following for products and experiences. Once you start to monetize your audience the relationship changes. It is no longer just about providing value and building a community of people with similar interests and it becomes a business exchange. There are plenty of other avenues for revenue as a personal brand that do not require selling to your audience directly. The other methods of revenue will allow you to maintain your current relationship with your following, and let your personal brand become a profitable business.
